Where it all began...
I think back to when I was young and I can always remember my Mom hosting great Birthday Parties for me and my siblings. There were always fun games and a great cake. I remember searching through my mom's party book to pick a different fun shaped cake each year. This book from the 70's, sits in her recipe book cupboard above the stove, to this day.
I always enjoyed helping my mom organize ideas for my parties, but I don't think I realized just how much I love party planning until my own two boys were born. Over the years as they have gotten older, my party planning has become all encompassing. We pick a theme, and everything revolves around it, from invites, to decor, to food and loot bags. The center piece is usually the cake.
My blog will take a journey back to when i began planning these parties, and show how far I have come with my cake decorating. Now that I have found my passion in making fondant covered cakes, I will also use this blog to showcase the cakes I am thrilled to be making for my own kids, friends and family.
