A friend through school requested a cake for her son's 5th Birthday Party. The theme was Skylanders. We decided on a cake that looks like the Portal used in the game.
The original thought was to put some of the actual characters from the game on top. However, I prefer to make cakes that are 100% edible. So I went in search of a character that I thought I could reproduce out of fondant. I came up with Wrecking Ball.

The party kept increasing in size and so did the amount of cake needed. In the end we had 2 - 8in, 3tier cakes, as well as 18 filled cupcakes. All were made in chocolate, with a chocolate pudding filling and Vanilla Buttercream icing, Marshmallow Fondant was made to top the cakes.
All this was done a midst a main level/kitchen reno. We are living in chaos right now, so it was a nice way to get away from it all for a bit and focus on what I love to do.
