October 2012
I was asked to come up with a cake for a baby shower my Mother-in-law was hosting for her nephew and his wife.  The cake was a real hit, and looked great alongside all the pink sandwiches that were made for the event.
I unfortunately missed most of the shower because Carter was chosen to participate in the Lasting Impressions event down at the Burlington Pier, but I did make it for the last 1/2 hour or so and got to meet beautiful baby Allanah.

A 3-tier Golden Cake with Pink Vanilla Buttercream;
The baby head and the top of the present were made of Styrofoam covered in fondant.

Here are also a few pictures of Carter's Special Day down at the Pier.
Carter was one of 7 children chosen to leave their
handprints on the Pier

The inked handprints will be used in several forms and transfered onto
a display which will be a part of the final design of the Pier.
Each of the 7 kids inserted a bolt and signed a
steel plate which will eventually be
encased in cement in the Pier.
As a memento he received a 'Gold Bolt'
He was pretty excited, but I don't think he quite grasps how awesome it will be, when he is able
to bring his own kids and eventually grandkids down to the Pier to see it.
